"לפסל את נפש האדם"

"לפסל את נפש האדם. ביום – הוא עובד עם נפש האדם, בלילה – הוא מעצב דמויות אנושיות סוריאליסטיות מברונזה. מקדיש את זמנו החופשי ליצירת פסלים רבי דימיון ויופי. "האדם הוא היצור המעניין והמיסתורי ביותר" הוא אומר, "האדם זה מיני אלוהים, שנבנה בצלמו, והינו נושא לחקר, למידה, התפעלות והערכה. בזכותו יש לנו תקווה למחר יפה יותר!" ד"ר גרא אלדור (מ. אלה) – רופא במקצועו עבד במשך כ 30 שנה במוסדות רפואים, מתוכם במשך כ 4 שנים, שימש בתפקיד סגן  מנהל  של "המרכז הרפואי שב"ס", ולאחר מכן במשך 9 שנים עמד בראש "היחידה הארצית לטיפול בהתמכרויות". פרש לגמלאות בדרגת סגן גונדר.

במהלך השנים האחרונות הוזמן לקחת חלק פעיל בתחום הפעילות החברתית – פוליטית, לקידום האינטרסים של אוכלוסית הקשישים בארץ ("הדור השלישי"). בבחירות הכלליות לכנסת התשע עשרה, שנערכו בישראל ב 22 בינואר 2013, שובץ למקום השישי ברשימת מפלגת "דור בוני הארץ", בראשותו של אפרים לפיד.

שירותו הצבאי:
בשנת 1974 גויס לשירות צבאי בהיותו רופא לתקופה של שנה וחצי. מתוכם שימש במשך שנה כרופא "מינהל עזה", בחבל עזה. סיים את שירותו הצבאי בדרגת סרן. מאז שיחרורו משירות סדיר שירת במילואים עד גיל 50.

פעילות בתחום האומנות:
עוד לפני תחילת לימודי הרפואה, הספיק ללמוד ציור ופיסול בבית הספר לאומנויות (חו"ל). מאז, באופן מקביל, לעבודתו כרופא, מצא זמן לעסוק גם בתחום האהוב עליו- פיסול. הציג את עבודות הפיסול שלו בעשרות  תערוכות (פרסונליות וקבוצתיות), לרבות במוזיאונים, במעון ראש הממשלה ובכנסת. פסלו "שלח את עמי" נמצא בתצוגה מתמדת בבניין הכנסת בירושלים.

מאז שנת 1997, גרא הינו חבר באגודת הפסלים והציירים של ישראל.

מסוף שנות ה- 90  גרא עוסק באינטנסיביות ובהתמדה בתחום עיצוב מבנים ארכיטקטוניים, מעלה רעינות מקוריים, משלב במבנים, בצורה פלסטית – אינטגרטיבית, חומרים כמו – מתכת, זכוכית ובטון.

מתחילת שנת 2000, גרא התחבר לאדריכל אילן בר אילן. בשנים הללו, הספיקו לעבוד יחד על תכנון מספר פרויקטים, כמו "קרית הנוער" (2001), שהתקבל לתחרות בינלאומית בעיר לה – פאס בבוליביה. כמו כן, על פרויקט "מרכז החלל למבקרים", שאמור לקום באחת הערים במחוז הדרום. עבור מרכז החלל, גרא תכנן בניין תצפית דו קומת שמתנשא לגובה של 18 מ', ומבנה "חללית"(15.5 מ'), אשר בו משולב גם פלנטריום.

פרויקט נוסף של גרא "כוכב  ירושלים", שתיכנונו הושלם לאחרונה, מקודם בימים אלה לאחת הערים המרכזיות בארץ.

בשנת 2015 הכין תוכנית להקמת פסל "עץ הדעת", (גובה 6מ') ,שמיועד לעמוד במרכזה של המזרקה בכיכר העיר.

בשנת 2016, השלים תוכנית להקמת פסלו "איש חושב" (גובה 2.5 מ') , שאמור לעמוד בכניסה למרכז ציבורי גדול.

“To Sculpture a Man’s Soul”

During the day, he works with the soul of man; and at night, he sculpts surrealistic human figures from bronze.  He dedicates his free time to creating very imaginative and beautiful sculptors. “The human being is a very interesting and mysterious creature”, he says, “Man is a mini-god”, created in God’s image, and is a subject for studying, discovery, amazement and esteem.  Due to him, we have the hope for a better tomorrow!”  (excerpt from an interview by Ms. Hana Nitzan, prior to his retirement from the Israel Prison Service).

Dr. Gera Eldor (M. Alle) – a doctor by profession for almost 30 years, working in medical institutes; during which 4 of those years held the role of deputy director of the “IPS Medical Center”, and afterwards for the next 9 years stood at the head of the “National Unit for the Treatment of Addictions”.   He retired holding the rank of Lt. Colonel.

During the past years, Dr. Eldor took an active part in the social-political field, advancing the interest of the geriatric population in the country (“third generation”).  During the general elections for the 19^th Knesset, which were held in Israel on the 22 Jan 2013, Dr. Eldor was placed sixth in the listing of the political party “Building of Israel Generation”, led by Ephraim Lapid.

Military Service
In 1974, he was drafted into military service as a medic for one and a half years.  During this time, for about a year, he served as a doctor for “Gaza Administration”, in the Gaza Strip.  He completed his military service with the rank of Captain.

Activities in the Field of Art
Even before beginning his medical studies, Dr. Eldor graduated from the School of Arts in Drawing and Sculptor (abroad). Since then, in parallel to his work as a doctor, he found time to work in this beloved field of sculpting.  His works of sculptor were presented in many exhibitions (as himself and part of a team), including museums, at the Prime Minister’s residence and in the Knesset.

The sculptor “Let My People Go” is on permanent display in the Knesset, in Jerusalem.

In 1997, Dr. Eldor became a member of Israel’s Artists and Sculptors Association.

From the late 90s, Dr. Eldor has been working intensively and with persistence in designing architectural buildings, raising original ideas, integrating plastic shapes into buildings using materials such as metals, glass and cement.

At the beginning of 2000, Dr. Eldor joined architect Ilan Bar Ilan.  During these years, the both managed to work together planning several projects such as “Youth Walls” (2001), which was entered into the international competition in La Pez, Bolivia.  Also, the project “The Space Center for Visitors” which is scheduled to be built in one of the southern cities of Israel.

It should be noted that for the Space Center, Dr. Eldor designed the two-story building: “The Observatory’ which reaches a height of 18 meters, and the “Spaceship” structure (15.5 meters) which has combined within a “Planetarium”.

Another project of Dr. Eldor is the “Jerusalem Star”, which planning was completed just recently and is being promoted these days for one of the central cities in Israel.

During 2015, Dr. Eldor created a plan to establish the “Tree of Knowledge” sculptor (6 meters in height), which is to stand in the middle of the fountain in the town’s center.

In 2016, Dr. Eldor completed the design for the “Thinking Man” sculptor (2.5 meters) which is to stand in the entrance of a huge public center.

ביולי 1976	הציג לראשונה את הפסלים בגלריה "קמחי", ת"א.
בשנת 1979	הציג  תערוכת יחיד גדולה בגלריה "יפנמה", ת"א.
בשנת 1982	הציג עבודות (פסלים ותבליטים) בתערוכה משותפת עם הצייר לב    שטיימן.
בשנת 1985	הציג עבודות בשתי תערוכות משותפות עם אמנים יוצאי בריה"מ, במסגרת האגודה למען החייל, בבת- ים.
ביולי 1985	הציג את העבודות (פסלים ותבליטים) בתערוכה שנערכה במעונו של ראש הממשלה דאז, מר שמעון פרס (בחסותם האדיבה של מר שמעון פרס ומר יעקוב צור, שר החקלאות, כשההכנסות היו קודש לקליטת עולי אתיופיה).
באוק' 1985	הציג בתערוכת יחיד גדולה במוזיאון העירוני של רמת – גן, במעמד של שר הבריאות, מר מרדכי (מוטה) גור.
בנוב' 1985	הציג עבודות  פיסול בתערוכה קבוצתית ב"היכל התרבות", ת"א, תחת הכותרת: "יצירת אמנים לציון"
בדצ' 1986	הציג עבודות פסלים ותבליטים בתערוכה במשכן הכנסת בירושלים. תערוכה  נערכה בחסותו של יו"ר הכנסת מר שלמה הלל. פסלו,"שלח את עמי", הושאר בכנסת לתצוגה מתמדת.
בשנת 1988	לרגל 40 שנה למדינת ישראל, עיצב מדליה מיוחדת לעידוד העליה,     בשם: "שלח את עמי".
בשנת 1994	השאיל מספר עבודות, לצורך צילום סדרת טלויזיה –,"Seven in Heaven" ע"י הטלוויזיה החינוכית הישראלית.
בשנת 1997	ד"ר אלדור התקבל כחבר באגודת הציירים והפסלים של ישראל.
החל משנת 1997	ועד היום עובד על תכנון, עיצוב ופיתוח המרכז"כוכב ירושלים", אשר ישמש למרכז אוניברסלי ללימודי תולדות  עם ישראל וירושלים, וישולב עם בית מלון יוקרתי ומרכז תרבות.
בדצ' 2000	הציג בתערוכה, שנערכה ב"בית מורשת" של  שב"ס. בפתיחת התערוכה השתתפו – נציבת שב"ס, רב גונדר אורית אדאטו, צמרת שב"ס והאורחים מאקו"ם.
בשנת 2001	לקח חלק פעיל כמעצב בתחרות בינלאומית יחד עם מספר אדריכלים, בתיכנון ועיצוב "מרכז הנוער", לעיר לה פאס שבבוליביה.
במרץ 2002	הושלמה עבודה על סדרת פסלים בשם: " בראשית" ו"אדם וחוה". הפסלים מעוצבים בסגנון ייחודי, סוריאליסטי, האופיני לאמן. הפסלים הללו מיועדים להיות מוצבים בבנינים, בפרקים ציבוריים ו/או בחוצות ערים.
בשנת 2003	לקח חלק פעיל כמעצב, יחד עם אדריכל אילן בר אילן, שותף בתכנון הפרויקט:"מרכז הלל למבקרים", שאמור לקום באחת הערים הגדולות במחוז הדרום.
בשנת 2008	עיצב מדליה לכבוד- 60 שנות המאבק ההירואי של היהודים, ממדינות טוטליטריות,  למען זכותם של היהודים לצאת ולעלות לארץ, למולדת האבות- למדינת ישראל!

יש לציין, שמספר עבודותיו (פסלים ותבליטים), נמצאים באוספים פרטיים בארה"ב, באגליה, בהולנד ובארץ.
